Parallel to the AARSE 2022, the GMES & Africa in partnership with the Rwanda Space Agency, Carnegie Mellon University Africa and the ESA EO AFRICA Initiative conducted an EO hackathon. During this hackathon the participants had to opportunity to tackle challenges related to wetlands vulnerability, agricultural monitoring and marine & coastal resources, using satellite data and cloud computing environment. The technical support was provided by Bas Retsios on behalf of the EO AFRICA R&D Facility and the scientific guidance arranged through the GMES & Africa Network of Academia.
